Warren Mark Cilliers

Warren Mark Cilliers, born January 6, 1979, in Johannesburg, South Africa, passed away tragically on November 8, 2025. He was a faithful and loving husband, a devoted father, a dependable brother, a friend, and a respected aviation professional. Warren leaves a legacy of compassion, talent, and extraordinary dedication. Known for his humility, kindness, and unwavering commitment to helping others, he touched countless lives through his work, his family, and his generous spirit. Warren’s passion for aviation shaped every chapter of his life. From childhood, his love of flight inspired him to pursue a career in the South African Air Force, where he proudly served for 3.5 years. He moved to the United States in 2005, earning his private pilot license, and in that same year meeting his wife, Janette, beginning a brand-new chapter of his life. Soon after, in 2007, their son Nicholas was born, and Warren began sharing the joy of aviation with him at a very young age. For eight years, Warren worked at Southeast Aero under the supervision of Kramer Upchurch, refining his technical skills and deepening his commitment to aviation excellence. In 2016, he fulfilled a lifelong dream by founding Cilliers Aviation in Palatka, Florida, where he became known for his expertise and knowledge, specializing in aerobatic aircrafts, meticulous work, mentorship, and unwavering dedication to supporting pilots and performers around the globe. Warren also spent four years traveling internationally as a personal aviation technician for Red Bull Air Race pilot Michael Goulian—a role that perfectly blended his engineering expertise with his love of aviation. During this time, he and the team proudly supported Goulian in achieving a first-place victory in 2018. Outside the hangar, Warren lived life to the fullest through surfing, kite surfing, skydiving, fishing, skating, traveling, and—most of all—spending time with his family and friends. Warren will be remembered for his gentle nature, his devotion to the Lord, Christian faith, his kindness, humility, remarkable talent, and his ability to make everyone around him seen and feel valued. His impact extends far beyond the hangar; it lives on in the pilots he supported, the friends he uplifted, and the family he adored. Blue skies forever, until we meet again. Warren is also lovingly remembered by his brother Darryl Cilliers and sister-in-law Jeanelle Cilliers; sister Melany Minnaar and sister-in-law Eleanor Harris; brother-in-law Jonathan Lancey; grandfather Marian Misiewicz; uncles Jan Misiewicz and Frank Morgan; aunts Diane Morgan and Jenny Misiewicz; Cousin Grant Morgan; and nephews Matthew and Joshua Cilliers. He was preceded in death by his parents Stephen Cilliers and Theresa Cilliers, and Grandmothers Wanda Misiewicz and Pikkie Cilliers and Grandfather Hennie Cilliers.
