Valeria “Val” Walden, 93, gained her heavenly wings surrounded by her family on July 5, 202,5 at her home. Valeria was so much more than a loving mother, grandmother, and friend; she was a radiant soul whose joyful personality could light up even the dullest room. Whether offering a heartfelt laugh or a listening ear, her presence was a comforting balm for many. Through her dedication to teaching, she empowered countless individuals with essential life skills, from perfecting a family recipe to mastering the art of balancing a checking account. Her wisdom and patience shone brightly as she shared her passions with her students at FSBD, a place she dedicated herself to until her well-deserved retirement. Valeria cherished the simple pleasures of life, often spending her weekends exploring yard sales and quaint thrift stores, uncovering hidden treasures and striking up lively conversations with those she encountered. Her warm spirit and genuine interest in others made her a beacon of love and support to friends and family alike. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her sister, Margaret Bailey; her son, Leroy” TayHay” Walden; her granddaughter, Dolores” Dee Dee” Pearson; and her grandson, Brandon Walden. Valeria leaves behind a rich legacy that her loving and dedicated children will forever cherish: Ricardo "Ricky" Walden, Maurice "Mug" Walden, and Beverly "Mimi" Walden. Sister by heart Faye Satson, Daughter by heart Monica” Poohya” Walden, Lora Johnson, Norvella Campbell and Amanda McBride, Son by heart Harlan Walden, Maurice "Dad" Walden and a vast host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and friends all of whom will carry forth her spirit, ensuring that her influence and the life lessons learned from her will resonate for generations to come. In every smile and shared story, Valeria's presence will remain alive, reminding everyone of the extraordinary life she lived and the countless lives she touched with her love and generosity. Services for Valeria will be at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the funeral home.
