Silvio Bosi

With saddened hearts we announce the passing of Silvio Bosi, 67, of St. Augustine. Silvio was born on May 28, 1953 in Italy to the late Giuseppe and Maria Bosi. Silvio moved from Italy to Flushing, NY at the age of 14. He passed away May 18, 2021 at the Bailey Family Center for Caring. Silvio worked at the Villa Bianca Restaurant where he met the love of his life, Frances, and her family. Silvio and Frances worked together at the restaurant and later married and started a family. He also worked at Il Vagabonda Restaurant in New York City and the Café Continental in Manhasset. Silvio was an amazing baker and owned Silvio’s bakery. He retired as the Bakery Manager for Waldbaums Supermarket after 24 years of service. He enjoyed mushrooming in the Hills of Italy. In 2017, he retired and moved to St. Augustine, Florida. Silvio collected sports memorabilia and enjoyed attending NY Mets and Islander Games. He also enjoyed his garden where he grew fresh herbs and vegetables. In Flushing, NY, he became a self taught home remodel expert renovating their residence. In 2019, Silvio and Frances traveled all over Florida attending spring training events. Silvio was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gianna and beloved Chihuahua, Cara. Silvio is survived by his spouse of 44 years, Frances; son, David Bosi and wife, Christina; grandsons, Nathan, Jake and Lucas; sister, Luisa in Italy; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends who will miss him dearly. St Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Prayer Service was held Friday, May 21,2021 at St Johns Family Funeral Home. A Celebration of Silvio's life will be Friday, May 28, 2021 at Irish American Society, 297 Willis Ave, Mineola, NY, 11501 from 6:00pm to 9:30pm.
