Sheila Irene Mogus

Sheila Irene Mogus, age 50, of St. Augustine, Florida passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, September 26, 2021. She was born on July 26, 1971, in Canton, Ohio where she lived until she moved her family to Florida in August of 2001. Sheila attended Marlington School District schools and studied Computer Programming & Analysis, along with Business Management at St. Johns River State College. She also studied Database Management at the University of West Florida. Sheila worked for the State of Florida Department of Children and Family Services. Sheila enjoyed spending her time camping, going to Disney World, watching the Browns games, drinking coffee, and socializing with loved ones. Christmas was her favorite holiday as she loved spoiling the kids. Those that knew Sheila know that she was extremely generous with her time. She would always listen, help out and encourage us to find solutions to our concerns. She was quick to share any skill that she had whenever we needed her. She wanted everyone around her to feel happy, comfortable, and loved. She absolutely loved laughing with us and not taking things too seriously. She couldn’t hold grudges and it was often easy for her to forgive. No matter what we were going through or what we struggled with, she was always there to support us and help us find our way back. She was easy going and very understanding. She had a very important role in the family, especially when things were disrupted. She was the person who pulled it all together and kept us going when we didn’t know which way to turn. We can all agree that she had the biggest heart. She was loved and needed very much! Things just won’t be the same without her, but we look forward to the day when we can see her again. Sheila is survived by her husband Billy Mogus of 22 years; three children, Aaron Carl (Erica Carl), Ashley Gingerich and Britney Gingerich; six grandchildren, Landon, Lathan and Lillian Carl; Ryder and Kiley Penuel, and Richard Palmer; mother, Sherry Carl; father, Raymond Carl (Mary Carl); mother-in-law; Diana Riley; four siblings; Chet Carl (Tara Carl), Jennifer Downs (Jonathan Downs), Melissa Carl, and Libby Thomas (Ray Thomas); sister-in-law, Carol Mogus; nieces and nephews, Josie Board, Gavin Downs, Ellie, Max and Huntleigh Carl, Wesley and Willow Fong, and Ava Fern, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by daughter; Brianna Mogus; father, Bud Yoho; aunt, Susan Mione; cousin, Todd Smith, brother; Bret Yoho, and all grandparents. Services will be held on Monday October 4, 2021, at St Johns Family Funeral Home 385 SR 207 St. Augustine, FL 32084. Viewing hours will be from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM with a service from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Pastor Chet Carl, Sheila’s brother will officiate.
