Ronnie Leverne Mcknight

Ronnie Leverne McKnight, 57, of Spring Hill, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024. Born in Lake City, SC, to the late Adam and Elizabeth McKnight, Ronnie was the youngest of eleven siblings. He is survived by one brother and three sisters. Ronnie’s early passion for news reporting, writing, and theater led him to pursue studies at Francis Marion University in Mass Communications and Theatre before transferring and graduating from the University of South Carolina. He was a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. His dedication to his interests extended into his service with the Navy, where he served aboard the USS Milwaukee. Following his military service, Ronnie embarked on a successful career in technology, starting in telecommunications and evolving into roles as a manager and trainer in financial management. His love for technology guided him to become a Software Developer and later a Software Architect, specializing in Salesforce Software development and implementation. He was deeply valued by his colleagues at Horizontal, where he cherished the relationships he built. In his personal life, Ronnie was a devoted father to Ahlecea L. McKnight, Natasha A. McKnight, and Adam M. McKnight. From his first marriage. In his second marriage, he embraced his role as stepfather to Jessica Castro, Neftali (Niko) Castro, and Marcos Castro, and took immense joy in being a grandfather to Jacob, Valentina, and Kyan. Ronnie had a profound love for electric vehicles and cell phones. He tried his hand at many hobbies such as Bike riding, Photography, Drone flying, and planting and harvesting all types of ghost peppers and Japanese potatoes to name a few. He loved spending time with his wife and family at his 2nd home in Georgia he lovingly called Nuri Ranch or simply The Farm. He had many passions, but his greatest passion was always his family, who will remember him for his unwavering love and dedication. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home in St. Augustine.
