Richard A. "Rick" Streeter July 16, 1947 - June 26, 2016 Richard “Rick” A. Streeter of St. Augustine Beach, Florida passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2016 in Indianapolis, Indiana with his loving daughter, Sabra, at his side, holding his hand. Rick was preceded in death by his father, Milford Streeter and mother, Lorayne Streeter. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 45 years and the love of his life, Konnie, in 2015. Rick mourned the passing of Konnie with intensity and a broken heart until he took his last breath. They will now spend eternity together. Rick is survived by his daughter, Sabra Townsend (Joe) and 4 grandchildren, Abby-Grace, Keegan, Hope and Parker, who lovingly called him “PawPaw.” Rick is also survived by his 2 brothers, David Streeter of Florida and Glenn Streeter of California. Rick accomplished many things in his life despite losing his father at an early age. He was able to attain the status of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scout’s, which was no easy task. Rick worked 30+years for Florida Power and Light (FPL) and loved working with his fellow IBEW brothers and sisters. He told many stories about his days there and the friendships he made. Rick (Top) also proudly served in the Florida National Guard for 30+ years and achieved the accolades of his peers and the men and women he served with as 1SG. Like his co-workers at FPL, Rick loved the people he served with and would speak of them often and tell many stories of his days in the guard. Despite receiving the Florida Cross, the highest honor available to Army National Guard members in Florida, Rick was humble and most proud of just doing his job and helping those in his unit. Rick was also an avid hunter and would spend time in Florida, Alabama and South Carolina hunting deer. To say he was passionate about hunting is an understatement and he will be sorely missed by the Espanola Hunting Camp. Above everything, Rick was a proud husband, father and grandfather. The love he shared with his wife, Konnie, was unlike any other. That love carried over to his daughter Sabra and his grandkids, Abby-Grace, Keegan, Hope and Parker. They will miss him dearly and their many trips to see “Nana and PawPaw” in Florida. The family would like to thank everyone who helped Rick over the years and over the last 14 months, in particular. Mr. Ronnie, Mr. Keith, J.P., Dale, Mrs. Judeena, Larry, and Mandy, we will be forever grateful for everything you did. Memorial services with military honors will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday July 5, 2016 at St. Johns Family Funeral Home. A visitation, beginning at 5:00 p.m., will precede the services. Flowers are gratefully declined and those wishing may make a contribution in his memory to the Boy Scouts of America.
