Patricia Ann Sage

Patricia Ann Sage, age 89, passed away on August 7, 2022 at Bailey Family Center for Caring in St. Augustine, FL. Patricia was born on August 8, 1932 in Bronx, NY to parents William and Margaret (Stelzner) McDonald. Patricia was raised in the Bronx and in her youth she worked at a talent agency in Manhattan and later for Famous Artist Schools. She met her future husband, Bernard Sage, through a mutual friend while living in New York and married him on October 25, 1965. In 1977 they moved to south Florida, living in Royal Palm Beach. She had been living in St. Augustine since 2002 and with her daughter Janice for the last 6 years. Patricia was "Bronx tough" but was also very loving and compassionate. She was great with people and rarely met a person she could not get along with. She had an uncanny way of turning a bad situation into smiles. A strong and independent thinker, she grew up in a Catholic family and later converted to Judaism. In her time in St. Augustine, she enjoyed playing Mah Jong at the Riverview Club in the St. Augustine Shores. She will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Lee Sage, and a son, William Christensen. She is survived by her daughters, Dr. Janice Sage of St. Augustine, FL, Lisa Zigmont and her husband Steve of Brandon , FL; sons, Geoffrey Sage and his wife Brenda of Las Vegas, NV, Joseph Sage of Clermont, FL; grandchildren, Victoria Zigmont and her husband Joel, Christina Christensen and her husband Ed, Katherine Zigmont, Matthew Sage and his wife Celene, Nathan Sage and his wife Allison, Brianna Sage & Jolie Sage; and great grandchildren, Holly & Lyra Davis, Camden & Luna Sage, Jace & Annie Sage, and Nicole & Sofia Christensen. A Celebration of Life will be held at 5pm on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 with Rabbi Mona Decker. A visitation, beginning at 4pm will precede the service. In accordance with her wishes, Patricia will be interred with her husband Bernard at Florida National Cemetery. The committal service and interment will take place at 11:30 am on Wednesday, August 17, 2022.
