Patricia Catherine "Pat" Raia

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Patricia Catherine Raia, affectionately known as "Pat". She passed away on October 13, 2023 at her residence in St. Augustine surrounded by her family. She was born in New Rochelle, New York on March 21, 1940 to parents, George and Catherine O'Keefe. Her early years were spent in Mamaroneck, NY where she was a 1958 graduate of Mamaroneck High School. Pat was a gifted athlete and competed in softball in her youth. In search of a tennis partner one summer in the Hamptons, she met Jacques "Jack" Raia at a bar. Little did they know, a year later, they would embark on a lifelong journey of love, companionship and family. Pat married Jack on Valentines Day, February 14th, 1970, at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in New Rochelle and began their married life in Eastchester, NY. Pat was a Executive Secretary before starting her family. Pat and Jack lived in Somers, NY, for 20 years where they raised a family of two wonderful children. She embarked on a second career as a Real Estate Agent and Broker. She worked in real estate in New York and continued her career after moving to North Carolina. Pat enjoyed golf and was a skilled bridge player. She was an avid football fan, always keeping up with the home team wherever she lived, Giants, Jets or Panthers. In 2021, Pat and Jack moved to St. Augustine to live closer to their family. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. More than anything, Pat was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband of 53, years, Jack Raia of St. Augustine, daughter, Gabi Raia of St. Johns, FL.; a son Chris Raia and his wife Michelle of Tampa, Florida, and her cherished grandchildren, Isabella and Greyson. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023 with Father Ignatius Yeruva officiating. In lieu of flowers donations in Pat's memory can be made to: American Lung Association. Her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched.
