Mary Frances Ohlin

Mary Frances Ohlin, 81, of St. Augustine, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, at the Bailey Family Center for Caring, with her loving family by her side. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Margaret Bingham. Mary made St. Augustine her home 21 years ago after relocating from New Jersey, embracing the coastal community and the life she cherished by the sea. Early in her life, attended Ursuline Academy in Dedham, MA, and then the John Robert Powers School in Boston. Mary worked as a flight attendant, a role that reflected her adventurous spirit and love of connecting with others. She later devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family, embracing her most treasured role as a mother and grandmother. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she took immense pride and joy in each of them. Mary loved the beach and the ocean — they were truly her happy place. Whether walking along the shore or simply listening to the waves, she found peace and contentment by the water. She also cherished time spent with friends and family, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love. Mary attended St. Anastasia Catholic Church, where she nurtured her faith. She is survived by her four children: George F. Grant Jr. of Westwood, Massachusetts; Sarah J. Grant of Hudson, Massachusetts; Darcey O. Lacy of Charlottesville, Virginia; and Lindsay V. Ohlin of St. Augustine; her brother, Edward Bingham of Hemet, California; her sister, Claire Bingham of Centerville, Massachusetts; and her beloved grandchildren, Ryan and Luke Grant, Ryder Merloni, Brendan and J.P. Lacy, and Emily and Grace Tobuck, Kaitlyn Olander, Clay and Drew Shaw, great grandchildren Elliot Olander and Millie Olander. Mary will be remembered for her warmth, her gentle spirit, and the deep love she shared so freely with those around her. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished and the many lives she touched. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date..
