Maria Victoria Lynch

Maria Victoria Lynch, 73, of Orlando, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, at Baptist South Hospice in Jacksonville, Florida, surrounded by the love of the family she spent her life building. Born on May 26, 1952, in Panama City, Panama, Maria was the beloved daughter of the late Leslie and Millicent Lynch. In her youth, she was an ambitious student who attended dental school in Panama and held aspirations of becoming a dental assistant and dentist. Even early in life, she demonstrated a sharp intellect and a desire to help others. In her twenties, Maria moved to the United States, first settling in Virginia before later building a life in New York. Maria later raised her family between New York and Florida before settling permanently in Orlando in the early 1990s. While living in Orlando, she faithfully served as a caregiver for children at her church Orlando Christian Center for 15 years, nurturing and guiding countless young lives with patience, faith, and love. Orlando became her longtime home, where she continued to pour her heart into her family, faith, and community. She attended New Destiny Christian Center and also worshiped at her brother-in-law Bishop Carl’s church Genuine Truth International, remaining deeply devoted to her faith throughout her life. Maria’s life was defined by a servant’s heart and a radical sense of hospitality. She spent years personally caring for her mother and father in their final days, ensuring they remained at home surrounded by family rather than in a nursing facility. Her selflessness was legendary. She famously gave up her own master bedroom to her parents for years, and later would gladly give up her room for her sons, her sister Mirtha and her husband, or any visiting relative. To Maria, her own comfort always came second to the dignity and comfort of those she loved. A very loving and selfless woman, Maria’s greatest joy was her family. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising her three sons and later helped raise all of her grandchildren, who were truly her world. She created lasting memories filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. Maria’s personality filled every room she entered. She loved fishing and was always ready with a line in the water, often passionately insisting that whatever she caught was absolutely edible. Her home was often filled with the sounds of her favorite shows. For many years, I Love Lucy was a staple of the household, and later she could often be found enjoying her novelas on Univision and Telemundo. She loved cooking for her family, preparing dishes such as arroz con pollo, sous, chicken feet, and tostones y bistek. Even during quiet moments alone, she could often be found solving Sudoku puzzles. Maria also had a creative spirit and a deep love for arts and crafts, especially beading. She found peace and joy in creating beautiful handmade pieces and often shared them with family and friends. She will be remembered for her gentle heart, her strong faith, her unwavering devotion to her family, and the love she freely gave to everyone around her. Her legacy lives on in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished. Maria is survived by her sons, Rick Jemmott, Pedro Jemmott, and Hector Salazar; her beloved grandchildren, Juhvonnie, Ricky III, Victoria, Nino, Alexandra, Josephine, Chloe, Malakai, Santana, Noelle, Ryder, Vada, Evie, Elijah, and Jonah; her sisters, Marcela Edmund, Lillian McNeal, and Lucinda Simmons; her brothers, Gabriel Lynch Sr. and Leslie Lynch Jr.; and her former husbands, Ruperto Jemmott Sr., and Hector Salazar Sr. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Millicent Lynch, and her sister, Mirtha Jean-Bart.
