LeQuitia Shawon King

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of LeQuitia Shawon King, who departed this life on February 11, 2026, at the age of 43. LeQuitia was a native and lifelong resident of St. Augustine. She was a graduate of St. Augustine High School with the class of 2000. A gifted student, LeQuitia went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Business Administration and MBA from University of Phoenix. LeQuitia started her working career at the National Guard Armory. She later went to work for the St. Johns County Utility Department as a Utility Business Systems Coordinator and last year she moved to the risk and benefit department where she worked as a Risk and Benefits Officer. LeQuitia was highly respected for her work. One colleague reflected: "LeQuitia was a valued member of our Risk & Benefits team, and her contributions, warmth, and dedication will be greatly missed by her colleagues and all who knew her." She worked for St. Johns County Government for over 22 years. LeQuitia was likewise a wonderful mother to her three children. She worked hard to help her children experience many new horizons. Together they took frequent trips, traveling to many new parts of the world. She made sure her children had every advantage that she could provide. A woman of deep faith in God, LeQuitia valued relationships above all else. She was always putting others before herself. She was loving, supportive and always available to those around her and became a mother and sister figure to many. People seemed to gravitate to LeQuitia. Once they did, they were forever a part of her life. In her leisure, LeQuitia found joy in the water. Whether fishing or crabbing, she relished the moments spent with loved ones, creating cherished memories on the shores of Saint Augustine. LeQuitia was preceded in death by her parents, Mose King, III, and Adrienne (Peeples) King. She is survived by her three beloved children: Daidreuna, Ariana, and Adrian Donaldson, her brother, Mose James King IV, and her paternal grandmother, Helen King of Hastings. A funeral service to honor LeQuitia's life will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at St. Johns Family Funeral Home. A visitation, beginning at 11:30 am will precede the funeral service. LeQuitia Shawon King leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and dedication that will forever resonate within the hearts of her family and friends. As we gather to celebrate her life, we remember a woman whose spirit enriched our own, reminding us that true connection and kindness endure beyond our time on this earth.
