Le'Quitia Shawon King

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Le'Quitia Shawon King, who departed this life on February 11, 2026, at the age of 43. Le'Quitia was a native and lifelong resident of St. Augustine. She was a graduate of St. Augustine High School with the class of 2000. A gifted student, Le'Quitia went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Business Administration and MBA from University of Phoenix. Le'Quitia started her working career at the National Guard Armory. She later went to work for the St. Johns County Utility Department as a Utility Business Systems Coordinator and last year she moved to the risk and benefit department where she worked as a Risk and Benefits Officer. Le'Quitia was highly respected for her work. One colleague reflected: "Le'Quitia was a valued member of our Risk & Benefits team, and her contributions, warmth, and dedication will be greatly missed by her colleagues and all who knew her." She worked for St. Johns County Government for over 22 years. Le'Quitia was likewise a wonderful mother to her three children. She worked hard to help her children experience many new horizons. Together they took frequent trips, traveling to many new parts of the world. She made sure her children had every advantage that she could provide. A woman of deep faith in God, Le'Quitia valued relationships above all else. She was always putting others before herself. She was loving, supportive and always available to those around her and became a mother and sister figure to many. People seemed to gravitate to Le'Quitia. Once they did, they were forever a part of her life. In her leisure, Le'Quitia found joy in the water. Whether fishing or crabbing, she relished the moments spent with loved ones, creating cherished memories on the shores of Saint Augustine. Le'Quitia was preceded in death by her parents, Mose King, III, and Adrienne (Peeples) King. She is survived by her three beloved children: Daidreuna, Ariana, and Adrian Donaldson, her brother, Mose James King IV, and her paternal grandmother, Helen King of Hastings. A funeral service to honor Le'Quitia's life will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at St. Johns Family Funeral Home. A visitation, beginning at 11:30 am will precede the funeral service. Le'Quitia Shawon King leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and dedication that will forever resonate within the hearts of her family and friends. As we gather to celebrate her life, we remember a woman whose spirit enriched our own, reminding us that true connection and kindness endure beyond our time on this earth.
