Jeanene Ann Patton

Jeanene Ann Patton July 19, 1937 - November 28, 2013 Jeanene Ann Patton, age 76, of St. Augustine, passed away on November 28, 2013 at the Bailey Family Center for Caring Hospice, with her husband and family by her side. Born in Alexandria, Indiana, Jeanene grew up in Tecumseh, Michigan. She lived for many years in Toledo and Lima, Ohio, and for 7 years in The Villages, before moving to St. Augustine six months ago. A dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker, Jeanene also enjoyed her work as Secretary for the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Toledo, where she was employed for ten years. She was a wonderfully talented cook and baker who had a gift for hospitality, and was well known for the parties that she hosted. She was all about food and making people around her happy. Some of her baking creations had won contests. Jeanene also loved playing bridge, being a lifelong player, and was talented in needlepoint and crocheting. Above all, she was a beautiful and generous woman with a great sense of humor, who had a special ability to relate to others. Even when she was sick she had a smile on her face and a sparkle in her eyes. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Toledo, the St. Timothy Catholic Church at the Villages, and St. Anastasia Catholic Church in St. Augustine. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Catherine "Cathy" Wyandt, and a brother, Tim Heflin. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Wayne W. Patton; daughters, Deborah Obenauf (Gary) of St. Augustine, Cyndy Lou Baker (Glenn) of Port Townsend, WA, and Joanna Elston (Ron Collins) of Toledo, OH; brothers, J.C. Heflin (Barbara) of Onstead, MI, and Kevin Burchett (Laurie) of Tecumseh, MI; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, Dec. 7, at Immaculate Conception Church in Toledo, Ohio.
