Jane Curle Weed

Jane Curle Weed December 5, 1925 - February 13, 2013 Jane Curle Weed, 87, of St. Augustine, passed away on February 13, 2013, at the Bailey Family Center for Caring. Jane, daughter of Joe Lewis Curle and Leah May Lively Curle, was born on the family farm near Horse Cave, Kentucky on December 5,1925. Twin to Jack Curle, Jane had four brothers and six sisters. In 1938 the family moved to Cleveland, Ohio. Jane and Roy Weed met and dated while both were attending East High School in Cleveland, Ohio. They attended the same church and married April 7, 1945. The wedding arrangements were made on short notice because Roy was on a ten days delayed order to the west coast for further military assignment. Jane and Roy have lived in Florida for forty-five years; twenty years in Dade County and the past twenty-five years in St. Augustine. Jane was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a loving and kind person. She had a good sense of humor, and had a very positive outlook on life. She was a giving, caring mother and was always supportive of her family. Jane was active in church activities and enjoyed traveling. She was particularly fond of family and friend gatherings, orchids, quilts, and crossword puzzles. She was a Jacksonville Jaguar and Atlanta Braves fan. She was deeply loved by her family and will be missed. Jane is survived by Roy, her loving husband of 67 years; daughter, Margaret Van Ormer (William), a son, Charles Weed (Martha), daughter, Barbara Ware (Dan), grandchildren, Rebecca Drainer (Skip), Benjamin McClure, Kirk Weed, Samuel McClure (Robin), Candace Santana (Roberto), Haydan Bishop, and great grandchildren, Ella Santana and Evan McClure. She is also survived by her twin brother, Jack Curle, sister, Nova Butler, and brother, Len Curle, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 18, 2013 at St. Johns Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Donna Cooney and Rev. Richard D. Glessner officiating. A visitation, beginning at 1:00 p.m., will precede the service. Interment will take place at Craig Memorial Park. Flowers are gratefully declined and those wishing may make a contribution in her memory to Northeast Florida Community Hospice, the Bailey Center for Caring, or United Church of Christ in St. Augustine. St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
