Esther Torres April 15, 1932 - July 20, 2025 Esther Torres, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 93 years old. Esther was born on April 15, 1932, in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico, to Ciprian and Jacinta Torres. She spent her early years in Las Piedras, where she developed a deep appreciation for family, hard work, and faith-values that she carried throughout her life. In 1954, Esther moved to New York, where she met the love of her life, Francisco DeJesus. They were married that same year and soon began building a life and family together. Esther was a gifted seamstress-her hands could create anything from fine garments to cherished keepsakes. Her craftsmanship was matched only by her warmth and dedication to her family. Esther and Francisco raised their three daughters in New York: Iraida Manda (Kenny), Elfre Carson (Lloyd), and Yolanda Jimenez (Juan). Esther's love for reading and traveling brought her joy and inspiration throughout her life. In 2012, she and Francisco relocated to Florida, where they continued to enjoy time with family and explore new places together. Esther leaves behind a lasting legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Francisco DeJesus; her three daughters- Iraida Manda (Kenny), Elfre Carson (Lloyd), and Yolanda Jimenez (Juan) ; seven grandchildren-Joseph Carson, Jayme Carson, Luz Weitzel, Charlene Davis, Maria Sumner, Jose I. Jimenez, and Christian Quintana; and eleven great-grandchildren. Her memory will live on in their hearts forever. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ciprian and Jacinta Torres. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Johns Family Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 2:30 p.m. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Craig Memorial Park Cemetery. Esther will be remembered for her strength, creativity, kindness, and unwavering love for her family. She touched the lives of all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
