Elizabeth Harriet Gerardine Walklet

Elizabeth was born and raised in Sheffield, England where she attended high school at Silverdale. She later moved to the United States where she worked as an Au-pair in Westport, Connecticut. This is where she made many friends and met and married Richard Walklet. They lived in Connecticut and had three children together; Troy-William, Sarah, and Emma. Liz was a longtime employee of Danbury Hospital in Connecticut. There she worked in many departments eventually making her way up to the Emergency department while simultaneously earning a bachelors of science in nursing from Western Connecticut State university. After completing her bachelors she became a registered nurse. It was during this time that she met her long time partner Vance Williams and together they share a son, Elijah. Liz spent the remainder of her life in Florida where she worked as a home care nurse as well as a nurse in psychiatric. She also volunteered her time by working with the homeless. Liz was an avid traveler and had a special place in her heart for Negril, Jamaica. She taught the world to dance, and loved to sing along to her favorite music, specifically Bob Marley. She shared her zest for life with everyone she met. In her downtime she was an avid reader and loved spending time on home improvement projects. She was a tremendous animal lover and cared for many animals over the years, always with a cat by her side. Her huge heart and compassion also extended to people. Within her family, career, and community she was focused on caring for others. Her positive attitude and selflessness made a remarkable difference to those around her. She was a one of a kind woman that lived by her own set of rules as she pursued the things she loved. Her passion and determination brought her to many interesting places during her journey through life. She brought joy to those around her and made the world a better place in her own way. She is survived by her children; Troy-William Walklet and his wife Carol of Simsbury, Connecticut, her daughter Sarah Walklet of St. Augustine, Florida, daughter Emma Walklet of St. Augustine, Florida, and youngest son Elijah Williams of St. Augustine, Florida. Beloved grandchildren; Jasper and Richie of St. Augustine, Florida. Her mother, Marcelle Hespe of Cheltenham Spa, England and sister, Louise Hinchcliffe of Cheltenham Spa, England. There will be a private ceremony held at St. Johns Family Funeral Home in St. Augustine on Tuesday May 28, 2019. A separate public memorial will be held at a later date.
