Anthony "Tony" Alberico

Anthony "Tony" Alberico, Sr., age 69, of St. Augustine, FL passed away on September 16, 2023 at Baptist Medical Center South in Jacksonville, FL after a brief illness. Anthony was born on June 12, 1954 in San Vittorino, Italy to parents Vincenzo and Ersilia Alberico. He grew up in San Vittorino and moved to the United States at the age of 17 with his father and sister, settling in Joliet, Illinois. Tony began a career in the construction industry at a young age. He was a hard worker and a great provider for his family. He had a successful career as a Foreman with PT Ferro Construction Company in the Joliet area for many years. More importantly, he met the love of his life, Marianne Zolecki, and married her on September 17, 1977. Tony and Mari raised a family of three sons. He loved taking the family RV camping, and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Tony was easy going, a great storyteller, and he had a great deal of pride in keeping his yard in pristine condition. He was a fantastic handyman and was always available to lend a helping hand when needed. Tony was most proud of his accomplishment of building his own family home. After retiring in 2006 from Union Local 75 in Illinois he spent time traveling throughout the United States visiting family and sightseeing. Tony recently moved to St. Augustine, FL and had been a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. More than anything Tony was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and he will be deeply missed. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Alberico, sisters in law Corrine Zolecki, Antoinette Collofello and Karen Zolecki. Brother in law Ken Noll. Anthony is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marianne of St. Augustine; sons, Tony Alberico, Jr. (Julienne) of Poway, Ca., Adam Alberico (Kristina) of Fernandina Beach, FL., Eric Alberico (Bre) of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; Grandchildren: Vincent, Breckin, Luke, Noah, Tessa, Brooke, Cohen, and Ty. sisters, Libby Egizio (Jim) Portland, Oregon, Maria Alberico (Fausto) Italy; brother, Mauro Alberico (Gabriella) Italy; brother-in-laws Antonio Alberico, Tom Zolecki (Rose), Ted Zolecki, Ed Zolecki (Cindy), Mike Zolecki (Dianne) Rich Colofello; Sister in laws Jackie Noll, Sylvia Zolecki, Julie Zolecki and numerous nieces and nephews. A private funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, September 22, 2023 at. St. Johns Family Funeral Home with Father Matthew Ibok officiating.
