Wallace “Everett” Haney, 90, of St. Augustine passed away March 12, 2021 surrounded by family at the Ponce Therapy Care Center after an extended illness. Everett was born on October 17, 1930 to the late Clifford and Pearl Haney. Everett graduated from High School in Arkansas and was the class of 1947 Valedictorian. He was a proud US Navy Veteran. He was assigned to the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict as a corpsman. After moving to St Augustine, He became a St. Johns County Deputy for many years. During his law enforcement career, He traveled overseas to Vietnam where he assisted in airport development. He later was employed by Wise Potato Chips as a truck driver. He was a Mason and Shriner. Everett was loved by everyone who met him. He had a gentle soul and outgoing personality. Everett is preceded in death by his parents, brother, James “Jimmy” and sister, Marilene. Everett is survived by his wife of 64 years, Linda; children, Michael Haney (Letitia ), Ginger Lucas and Kimberly Haney, Mary Gaskill; grandchildren, Jodi Edgell(Anthony), Matthew Lucas, Garron Lucas, Kerri Humphries(Brad), Wesley DeGrande(Aviles), Lucas Cote, Tracey Durling, and Tara Addison(Tommy); 10 great grandchildren; siblings, Trenton, Ronnie, Louene and Clifford; a host of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday, March 18, 2021 at St Johns Family Funeral Home. A Celebration of Everett’s life will be 10 A.M., Friday, March 19, 2021 at St Johns Family Funeral Home with Rev. Clarence Blalock officiating. He will be laid to rest at Craig Memorial Park. In keeping with the CDC Coronavirus guidelines every attendee must wear a mask and the number of attendees may be restricted.
