Thomas Cameron "Cam" Jacobs

We are saddened to announce the unexpected passing of Thomas Cameron "Cam" Jacobs on February 18, 2023 due to complications following cardiac arrest. Cam is survived by his wife of 23 years, Keri, his devoted sons, Cole and Carson, and his beloved dog, Vinny, of St. Augustine, FL. He is also survived by his mother, Ruth Jacobs of Miami, FL; siblings, Chris Jacobs of Miami, FL, Caron Dunn (Gary) of Tavernier, FL, and Cassie Pigza (Mike) of Fort Mill, SC; mother and father-in-law, Roy & Pat Zakrocki, brother-in-law, Steve Zakrocki (Amanda), sister-in-law, Gina Sharpe (Zach) of St. Augustine, FL, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Cam is preceded in death by his father, Captain Tom Jacobs, and brother, Mark Simmang. Cam’s outgoing, fun loving, hilarious personality made everyone want to be his friend. He was an outstanding baseball and football player at Coral Gables High School and was recruited to play football at University of Kentucky on a full-ride scholarship. After his success in college, he was an NFL 5th round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he played for 2 seasons. He also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for 1 season. Cam was an enthusiastic real estate professional who had a good eye for properties with potential. He and Keri built a thriving business together. Cam was an outside of the box thinker, always coming up with innovative ideas and businesses throughout his life. He enjoyed boating, beach life, and coaching Carson's football team. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends, watching football, and talking about sports and life with his sons. We know Cam is cracking up all who went before him with his jokes, and performing his go-to karaoke song, “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” in his own special way. We are all so blessed to have known and loved "This Guy"! A gathering is planned to celebrate Cam's life on Sunday, April 16th at the St. Augustine Yacht Club.
