Richard Charles "Dick" Weidner Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Richard Charles “Dick” Weidner, age 68, of St. Augustine, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2020 at the Bailey Family Center for Caring with his family by his side. He was born and raised in Carlisle, Pennsylvania and was a 1971 graduate of Carlisle High School. As a young man Dick moved to St. Augustine to manage a Midas Muffler Shop. He later worked as a mechanic for Tree Of Life where he met the love of his life, Mary Jane Sanchez, who was a fellow employee. Most recently, Dick worked as a maintenance man for Anastasia Lanes Bowling Alley, where he worked for 18 years. He was a talented mechanic who could fix about anything. He enjoyed restoring antiques, but his passion was German automobiles, and especially the Porsche 911. Dick will be remembered by many for his kind heart. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He also had a unique sense of humor and was constantly kidding with his family and friends. He was loved by his family, his work family and many friends and he will be deeply missed. He is survived by his life partner and soul mate, Mary Jane Sanchez of St. Augustine; daughter, Dana Beckman (James) of St. Augustine; sons, Joey Strickland (Sarah) of St. Augustine; Donald Rake of St. Augustine; Eddie Rake (Kimberly) of Hawthorne; a sister, Linda Hutzler (Steve) of Fulton, Md ; brothers, Frank Weidner (Nancy) of Austin, Tx; Mike Weidner of Carlisle, Pa; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grand children. A private memorial service will be held. St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
