Richard Carlton Dryden Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Richard C. “Rick” Dryden, 69, St. Augustine, died July 10, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital in Daytona Beach. Rick was born in West Palm Beach, son of the late James David Dryden and Mary Dryden, and had resided in St. Augustine for many years. He was retired from the State of Florida Department of Children and Families where he had worked as a supervisor. Rick loved to fish, garden, and doing puzzles. He was also a sports enthusiast, rooting for the Dolphins and Jaguars in the NFL, the Miami Hurricanes, and the Atlanta Braves. He was a longtime member of New Life Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held 5:00 p.m. Monday July 18, 2022 at St. Johns Family Funeral Home with Rev. John Fletcher officiating. A visitation, beginning at 4:00 p.m., will precede the services. Burial will take place at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday July 19, 2022 at Hanson United Methodist Church Cemetery in Madison, FL Flowers are gratefully declined and those wishing may make a contribution in his memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. He is survived by his wife or 47 years, Brenda Joyce Dryden, St. Augustine; two sons, Ricky Dryden, Charles Anthony Dryden (Sally June), all of St. Augustine; brother, Gene Dryden (Linda), West Palm Beach. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, James David Dryden Jr, Raymond Walter Dryden; and daughters, Tracy McLain and Cynthia Hachmeister. St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
