Patricia Jo Worthington

Patricia Jo Worthington, 89, passed away on May 29, 2022, at Samantha Wilson Care Center at Bayview in St. Augustine, Florida. She was born in Ashland, Kentucky to Marion Robert Kemper and Grace Jeanette Hunt Kemper. She graduated from Ashland High School in 1950 and went on to attend Ashland Community College. Pat met Clyde Worthington in Ashland, KY and they married in 1953. They lived in Kentucky until 1967 and then moved to Florida, where they raised their family. Pat was a stay-at-home mother until 1980. She worked at Trinity Episcopal School for 5 years and then moved to St Johns County School District, where she worked for 14 years. She retired from St Johns County School District in 2000. Family was always the most important thing in Pat’s life. She was actively involved in her children’s activities, attending every event, recital, competition and school or church activity. She was a member of the St Augustine High School Band Boosters for 20 years. Pat was very involved as a member of Ancient Baptist Church for 50 years. She loved to sing and was a member of the church choir. Pat is survived by her six children: Robert Worthington (Connie), Elkton, VA; Rhonda Parker, St. Augustine, FL; Cheryl Smith (Ken), Auburndale, FL; Randy Worthington (Jennifer), St. Augustine, FL; Jan Caban (Jason), St. Augustine, FL; Brian Worthington, Harrodsburg, KY; 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Sharon Stout (Jim) of Dunwoody, GA and a sister-in-law, Leslie Kemper, St. Augustine, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Worthington; parents, Marion and Grace Kemper; sister, Wanda Willis; brothers, Marion Kemper and Michael Kemper; and great grandson, Teagen Stratton. A Funeral Service in celebration of her life will be held Friday, June 3, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Ancient City Baptist Church, St Augustine.
