Melissa Dawn Moore

February 26, 1973 - June 8, 2022

Melissa Dawn Moore, 49, of New Point, VA passed away at her home in New Point, VA. She was born Bryson City, NC and grew up in a military family living in Fort Brag, Germany and her teen years in Seaford, VA. After graduating from York High School, Melissa went to work for Sea Pine Apartments. She was a dedicated employee and worked her way up to manager. She was a very caring woman and all the tenants of the apartments cherished her. Melissa enjoyed crafting and making gifts for her family, she was very talented. She also enjoyed cooking for her family and made the best lasagna. Two years ago she and her husband Adam, moved to New Point, VA. They were like a second family to her. Everybody loved Melissa, she was family oriented and devoted to her friends, often known for her generosity to strangers. Melissa will be missed by everyone that knew and loved her. She is survived by her mother, Victoria Clum (Harold); father, Albert Rowland; step sister, Jane Kudel (Leo); niece and nephews, Kristin, Zachary and Maison; aunts and uncles, Joanna Lynn, Bob Ashe (Barbara), Wesley Ashe, Linda Harrell, Dick Ashe (Desarie) and Clint Ashe (Brenda); grandmother, Rowena Rowland and son, JT Moore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam Moore and sister, Heather Martin. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Craig Memorial Park with Pastor Mike Krulcik officiating. St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
