Mariya Goldenberg

July 2, 1929 - April 9, 2022

Mariya Goldenberg, Age 92 passed away April 9, 2022, at her home in St. Augustine Florida. She was born in Crimea Russia to Father Simon and Mother Sofia and was one of 3 siblings. She immigrated to the United States in 1993 and moved from New York to St. Augustine in 2011. Mariya was a wonderful mother to 2, a grandmother of 4, and a great grandmother of 6. Her kind heart and joyful presence was a gift to all that she knew, both family and friends. Mariya loved her St. Augustine home and her daily walks in the neighborhood. She loved to cook and bake, as well as clean and sew. She kept her mind sharp with puzzles and games and loved to play dominoes. She treasured her great grandchildren and especially loved her time with the newborns. Mariya is survived by her 2 daughters, Sofia Ivany (husband Nikolay) and Lucy Pedersen (husband Alan); grandchildren, Vadim Ivanyushchenko, Ruslan Ivanyushchenko, Viktoriya Cully (husband Aidan) and Helen Imson (husband Lord); and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, and her husband Iosif Goldenberg in March of 2000. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday April 14, 2022, at 9:00 AM, with a visitation at 8:30 AM at St Johns Family Funeral Home, 385 State Road 207, St. Augustine Florida. There will be a burial on Friday, April 15, 2022, at 1:00 PM in New Montefiore Cemetery 1180 Wellwood Avenue West Babylon, New York 11704.
