Margie Jeanette Barker

Margie Jeannette Barker, 82, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at her home in St. Augustine, Florida. She was born February 22, 1940, in Starke, Florida to Buck Griffis and Barbara (Silcox) Griffis and was raised in Starke until moving to St Augustine at the age of 20. Margie worked for many years as a breakfast cook in numerous local restaurants. She loved her jobs and loved cooking for her customers as well as her family and friends. Margie always made sure there was a meal for those that were hungry. Margie was a woman of simple pleasures and took joy in working, cooking, and she adored her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The other two loves of her life were God and Elvis! Margie attended and was a member of Pentecostal Revival Center in St Augustine. Margie is survived by her daughter Diana Youngblood; grandsons, Christopher Youngblood and Shane Youngblood; granddaughter, Brandee Post; great grandchildren, Kinley, Madeline, and Gunnar; sister, Lois Turner along with other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and many brothers and sisters. A private Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations of food or money be made to a local food bank. St Johns Family Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
