Judith A Wolcott

November 3, 1935 - January 11, 2021

Judith A Wolcott, age 85, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2021. Judith was born November 3, 1935 in Rahway, New Jersey. She was raised in Rahway and attended local schools and graduated from Rahway High School. She went to Nursing College following high school graduation and completed her Registered Nurse Degree. Judith enjoyed a long career in nursing having served her patients at Middlesex County Hospital, Edison Medical Center and HCA Bayonet Point. Judith was married to her husband Peter for over 50 years. The two had known one another since childhood. In the late 1970’s Judith and Peter decided to cash out and move to Hudson, Florida where they opened a bait and tackle shop which they operated until they fully retired in 1991. Retirement meant more opportunity for Judith to focus her time doing what she enjoyed most, spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed fishing, crochet, cross stitch and found joy in music and singing. Judith also enjoyed attending folk music gatherings where people from around the state would gather together for weekend events. Judith was so inspired by these folk gatherings that she started learning to play guitar at the age of 80! Judith was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and she loved animals, especially dogs and cats. Judith was preceded in death by her parents John Kenneth “Ken” Abbott and Agnes “Aggie” (Walker) Abbott and her beloved husband of over 50 years Peter Wolcott. She is survived by her daughters; Shari Fodi (Dennis), and Wendy Fry (Jerry) along with one grandchild and one great grandchild. St. John’s Family Funeral Home is in Charge of arrangements.
