Joseph Elmer Swangler

June 28, 1948 - June 7, 2022

Celebration of Life for Joseph Swangler Dear Bothers and Sisters in Christ, Our brother in the faith, Joseph Swangler went to be with our Lord and Savior suddenly, on June 7, 2022 at Flagler Hospital. He was a faithful and loving Husband, Father, Brother-in-law, Uncle and friend to many. Joe was a long time member of Crescent Beach Baptist Church. He was very involved in the ministry at the church as a Door Greeter, Awanas volunteer, VBS helper, and where ever he was needed. As a Door Greeter, he always greeted his church family with a warm smile and handshake, or hug. Throughout his life, he worked hard to provide and care for his family. He worked for the county and, for 18 years at the Claridge Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Joe was born on 6/28/1948 to parents Joseph Edward Swangler and May Mallon Swangler in Philadelphia, PA. He is survived by his wife Linda Swangler, Son Joseph (Joey) Swangler and Brother Billy Mason. Joe had two siblings that preceded him in death, Mary Lou Summers and Alfred Swangler. He leaves behind his Mother-in law, Nora Keen, Sister in laws, Kathy Hirschlein and Carol Huffmaster. Brother-in-laws, John Hirschlein and Michael Huffmaster. He also leaves behind many Nieces, Great Nieces, Nephews and Great Nephews who loved him dearly. Linda and Joe met in 1972. Every year he would propose to Linda and she would refuse, telling him to ask in 10 years. Finally, she said yes to his proposal and they were married on June 26, 1982. They would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on June 26, 2022. But, have been together for 50 years. Please be in prayer for his Wife, Son and family. Joe is deeply missed but we know he is no longer in pain and suffering. Because we are people of the Resurrection, we know Joe is with the Lord, experiencing the promises of being in the presence of our Savior Jesus Christ. The Family is asking for donations for Linda in lieu of flowers, if you are able. God Bless and keep you all in His loving arms. A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Crescent Beach Baptist Church.
