Jaquelyn Pearson Duncan October 1, 1950 - December 28, 2010 Jackie began her journey Oct. 1, 1950, in Miami, Fla., and ended her three-plus years of battling ovarian cancer on Dec. 28, 2010, in the care of her devoted family and Haven Hospice of Palatka. She is the daughter of the late Gloria Rae Fasula, Harry Lister Pearson and stepfather Frank Fasula, also deceased. She is the paternal granddaughter of Matilda and John Pearson of Pennsylvania, with whom she spent summers of her childhood. Jackie is survived by one sibling, Rebecca Merritt (husband, James) of Panama City, Fla.; four children, Adam Duncan (significant other, Cindy Reistroffer) of Grand Rapids, Mich., Jared Duncan (significant other, Kristen Miller) of St. Augustine Beach, Fla., Michael Duncan, St. Augustine, Fla., and Lisa Duncan of the home in St. Augustine, Fla. She also is survived and will be long remembered by her six grandsons, Matthew, Andrew, Jarrett of Grand Rapids, Brayden, Max and Cayden of St. Augustine Beach, Fla.; many cousins, nieces, nephews and an abundance of friends many accumulated over a lifetime. Jackie graduated from Castleberry High School of Castleberry, Fla., and soon thereafter married Steve Duncan, the children's father. Before motherhood, her most favored "career," she worked at the Barnett Bank and the Chamber of Commerce of Winter Park, Fla. She graduated from The Mandarin School of Chinese Medicine and was a licensed massage therapist in St. Augustine, Jacksonville, Key West and Hilton Head, S.C. She was also certified as an aesthetician, employed with Flagler College, Epicure, Publix and Sunshine Designs Wallpapering. She was known and loved for her devotion to homemaking and parenthood. Her children and friends knew of her delicious homecooking, sewing her children's clothing and her artistic ability in decorating the home. She parented with old-fashioned skills and cutting-edge awareness. Jackie had the opportunity to travel and had the pleasure of spending a few months in Guatamala City, and time in The Virgin Islands and Sedona. So full of life, and joy even through three years with the cancer diagnosis, making the most of every day, every moment to be a giving person with hope. Her energy, wisdom and positive messages will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her life truly made a difference to many.
