Harry Richard Buell Jr.

August 6, 1960 - June 7, 2022

Harry Richard Buell Jr., sadly passed away in St. Petersburg, Florida on June 7, 2022, at the age of 61. Harry was born on August 6, 1960, in St. Augustine and attended St. Augustine High School before enlisting in the United States Coast Guard at the age of 17. After his 27 years of service, he returned to St. Augustine where he enjoyed his retirement with gardening, spending time with friends, family and well if you knew him, you knew him. While serving his country in the Coast Guard, Harry was recognized for his service earning numerous USCG Awards and Achievements including the Coast Guard Achievement Metal, Coast Guard Unit Commendation (2 Awards), Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Commendation (5 Awards), Coast Guard Good Conduct Metal (7 Awards), National Defense Service Medal (2 Awards), Commandant’s Letter of Commendation, Humanitarian Service Medal (2 Awards), Coast Guard “E” Ribbon, Coast Guard Special Ops Service Ribbon (3 Awards), Coast Guard Sea Service Ribbon, Secretary’s Outstanding Unit Award, and Transportation 9-11 Ribbon. Harry is survived by his sister, Cecelia; aunt, Sue; son, Jack; daughters, Anna, Sarah, and Kimberly; niece, Amy; grandchildren, Chole, Jamie, Ella, Amelia, and Tyler, as well as, several cousins and close friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Harry Richard (Bubby) Buell Sr.; mother, Barbara Ann Neville, (nee Meacham); uncle, Benjamin Leen (Ben) Meacham Jr; aunt, Judy Lynn Perry, (nee Meacham) and best friend and sidekick, Flo. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 18th at 1:00 PM. at St Johns Funeral Home 385 State Road 207, St. Augustine, FL 32084. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Harry's life. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, drink one for the boys.
