Frank Arthur Renigar

Frank Arthur Renigar, age 89, of St. Augustine, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2022 at Flagler Hospital. He was born to Howard and Hazel (Walker) Renigar on September 12, 1932, in Asheboro, North Carolina. He grew up in Asheboro and after two years of college he joined the Navy in 1957. He Trained as a Navy pilot in Pensacola Florida and served in the US Navy after the Korean War. He flew as a government contractor for Air America, flying personnel and supplies into Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. He later flew in Zaire, Africa as a corporate pilot for Morrison Knudsen Construction Company based in Boise, Idaho, retiring in 1988. In 1989 he moved to Saint Augustine, Florida. He was well known in the community from riding his bicycle around the historic district every day and visiting with his neighbors. He was also an active contributor and volunteer in the St. Johns County Sheriff Association. He was survived by his sons, Gregory Renigar of Livermore, CA, Kurtis Renigar of St. Augustine, FL, and Frank A. Renigar, Jr. of Omaha, Arkansas.; a brother, James Richard “Dick” Renigar of Asheboro, NC.; grandchildren Christopher, Tracy Marie, Dustin James and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jean Renigar, brother, Bill Renigar and granddaughter, Sara Jo. St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
