Andrzej "Andrew" Orzechowski

Andrzej “Andrew” Orzechowski, age 63, of St. Augustine, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2022 at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville. He was born to Tadeusz and Kazimiera (Gerwatowskia) Orzechowski on April 1, 1958, in Llomza, Poland. He grew up in Llomza, graduating from high school where he trained as a carpenter. After two and half years serving in the Polish Army he worked as a brick and block mason for ten years. After coming to the United States Andrew continued to work in the construction industry. He was very intelligent and was a man of many talents. A longtime Master Gardener, he had a passion for cultivating his own flowers and arranging beautiful floral arrangements. He especially enjoyed decorating for the Christmas Holiday. He raised animals, loved music and enjoyed cooking Polish food, his favorite being Kielbasa and eggs. He was a big history buff, built model tanks and other military vehicles. He prided himself on taking care of his clothes and grooming and he always wore a hat. Andrew was always smiling and willing to help others. He will always be remembered for his kindness both to both people and animals, and he will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his parents and a dear cousin. He is survived by his brother, Jerry and Jerry’s wife Maria Maresca, and a brother, Zbyszek. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at St. Johns Family Funeral Home.
