Ursula Vonloesch Bauman

Ursula VonLoesch " Vonne " Bauman, age 85, of St. Augustine Fl., passed away on April 2, 2020 at Moultrie Creek Nursing & Rehab Center. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Vonne moved with her family to Buckhall, Virginia, at the age of 10. She was a 1951 graduate of Osbourn High School in Manassas, Va. and worked as a stenographer for an insurance company in Washington D.C.as a young woman. She met her husband – to - be , Robert Francis Bauman, at a dance at the National Guard Armory in Manassas, Va. and the couple married in September 1953. Vonne was a dedicated wife and mother. She helped work the family farm as she raised her children in Manassas, Va. When her children were grown, she went back to work as a nurse's aide. Vonne was very intelligent and artistically talented. She produced many beautiful works of art, specializing in cowboy, nature, and beach scenes. She sold many of her works and it became somewhat of a small business that she operated for many years. She lived in Florida for over 30 years, in Deerfield Beach and the last 10 years in St. Augustine, Fl. She was a member of the Lutheran Church for much of her life. Vonne will be remembered as a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great Great Grandmother, sister and friend to many and will be sorely missed. She was preceded in death by her brother, Eugene VonLoesch, Jr. of Clifton, Va., her son, Robert F. " Bobby " Bauman and her grandson Edwin Francis "Butch" Bastable III. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Bauman Bastable and husband Edwin F. Bastable, Jr. and Julie Bauman all of St. Augustine, Fl. In addition she is survived by sisters, Edith Pierce and husband Russell of Unionville, Va, Delores Anderson and husband Andy of Chicago, Illinois, Lucy Good of Kettering, Ohio; sister's in law, Ginger Bauman of California, and Becky VonLoesch of Clifton, Va.; grandson, Jeramie J . Bastable & wife Jamie; great grandson, Braden and great granddaughter, Brynn of Greensboro, NC.; granddaughter, Melanie Simmons, great granddaughter, Tiffany Croson; great great grandchildren, Xavier & Amya; granddaughter, Mary Claire Menze and great grandchildren, Nolan, Olivia, & Landon all of Jacksonville, Fl.. A celebration of Vonne's life will be held at 3:30 pm on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at St. Johns Family Funeral Home with Rev. Glen McCutcheon officiating. St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
