Steve Henry Teresko Jr

Steve Henry Teresko Jr., passed away on June 4, 2024, at Senior Living at the Greens Memory Care. Born on April 2, 1933, in New Suffolk County, Long Island, NY, Steve was the son of the late Steve and Esther Teresko. Steve's life was a testament to service and dedication. He served his country honorably for 21 years in the Army, including three terms in Vietnam with the 1st Cavalry Division. Following his military service, Steve worked as a Postal Inspector for many years, where he forged a lifelong friendship with Charlie Tossone. In 1958, Steve married Sandra Teresko, and together they adopted two beautiful children they raised together. Outside of his professional life, Steve was passionate about golf and running. He attended the Masters Tournament for over 55 years and dedicated over two decades to volunteering at TPC Sawgrass. He was also an avid participant in local 5K races, showcasing his enduring commitment to fitness and community engagement. Steve's love for his country was evident in every aspect of his life. Despite his travels and commitments, he made it a priority to visit his family several times a year, cherishing moments of togetherness and shared memories. He is survived by his son, Steven Teresko and his wife Rheta; grandchildren, Zachary, Alisha, Matthew, and Nicholas; his sister, Ann Horowitz, and brother, Ted Teresko, along with his wife, Barbara. Steve was predeceased by his daughter, Madonna; siblings, Walter Teresko, Marian Powell, and Elsie White. Steve Teresko Jr. leaves behind a legacy of love, courage, and selflessness. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire kindness and service in the hearts of those he leaves behind. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, June 13, 2023 at St. Johns Family Funeral Home. A visitation will precede the service from 10-11am. Graveside will be held at 2pm on Thursday at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
