Robert Houston Powell

Robert Houston Powell, age 61, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away on December 10, 2022 at the Bailey Family Center for Caring in St. Augustine. Robert was born on February 28, 1961 in Atlanta, GA to Samuel Robert and Mary Young (Betty) Powell. Robert grew up in the Atlanta area and was a 1980 graduate of Berkmar High School. Robert decided early in life that he wanted a career in real estate. He spent his entire career in the field, with 35 years in both residential real estate and commercial property management, winning many professional awards. He began his career in residential real estate in Gwinnett County, Georgia, and surrounding areas. In 2012, following a move to St. Augustine, Florida, he joined North Shore Property Management, where he was most recently, Property Manager and Sales Associate. He was a people person and built a special rapport with his clients and many lasting friendships throughout his career. Robert enjoyed listening to music, taking long drives and spending time in the mountains with family and friends. He was an avid sports fan. More than anything, Robert was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother and friend to many. He was beloved and will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Robert Powell. He is survived by his daughter, Amberly Johnson (Tim) of Snellville, Ga.; son, Sam Powell (Eliana Forma) of Deerfield Beach, FL; mother, Betty Powell of Lilburn, Ga.; sister, Kathy Powell of Atlanta, Ga.; granddaughter, Adelynn Johnson; uncle John Young (Diane) of Lilburn, Ga.; three cousins and their children. The funeral service to celebrate the life of Robert Houston Powell will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Funeral Home Snellville with Bob Cribbs officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Tucker, Georgia. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 12:30 PM until the time of service 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
