Patricia "Pat" Florence DeGrande

Patricia Florence DeGrande, 79, affectionately known as "Pat” and “Nana Pat,” passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026, at the Bailey Family Center for Caring. A lifelong resident of St. Augustine, Florida, Pat was born to the late William and Florence Kling. She graduated from of St. Augustine High School with the Class of 1965 and later attended St. Johns River Community College. She began her career as a dental assistant before joining the St. Johns County Clerk of the Courts Office, where she served as a deputy clerk until her retirement. Pat was a devoted member of the Cathedral Parish of St. Augustine and a former member of the Garden Club of St. Augustine. She loved her hometown and the friendships she built throughout her life. But if you asked Pat what mattered most, the answer was always her family. She was happiest when surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren – whether sharing a meal, celebrating a holiday or birthday, or simply enjoying one another’s company. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, never missed an opportunity to tell a story, and always believed there was room for one more at the table. Her warm heart and positive outlook could brighten any day, and those who knew her will forever miss her laugh, her loving advice, and the way she could bring everyone together. Pat is survived by her three sons, Joey DeGrande (Jill Crookshank), Greg DeGrande and Kathy, Chris (Dionne) DeGrande; her sister, Debbie Noda; her brothers, Bobby Kling and Billy Kling; her grandchildren Ryan (Rhienna) DeGrande, Wesley (Aviley) DeGrande, Austin (Jordan) DeGrande, Andrew (Tania) DeGrande, James Crookshank and Madelyn DeGrande; and great grandchildren Kason, Rylan and Hazel DeGrande, and Lylah and Brody DeGrande. In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe DeGrande, whose memory she carried with her always. The family will remember Pat for the love she gave so freely and her beautiful flower arrangements. Her legacy lives on in the traditions and values she passed down, and the countless memories shared by those who were fortunate enough to know and love her. Funeral services and burial are private The family extends its heartfelt appreciation to the compassionate staff of the Bailey Family Center for Caring for the kindness and comfort they provided to Pat and to her family and friends. In Pat’s honor, memorial donations may be made to the Bailey Family Center for Caring. St. Johns Family Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
