Nancy Claire Hoffman February 15, 1936 - January 14, 2016 Nancy Claire Hoffman, age 79, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2016 at Loving Care Assisted Living is St. Augustine. A loyal friend, a dedicated wife, a mother with endless amounts of unconditional love. A shy introvert, a nervous laugh, a life lived sheltered by self-imposed monetary constraints but with boundless aspiration toward magnificent adventures and helping others accomplish THEIR goals. A college graduate, a talented musician, a master seamstress, a cake decorator, a Sunday school teacher, a woman dedicated to physical fitness. An intense love for a son who was not her own. A heart broken by tragedy, healed by a growing family. Children brought joy, and children kept a family together. A strong mind full of wisdom and knowledge struck a terrible blow with the onset of an awful disease. “Golden years” lived in not-so-Golden places. Loved by all who came to know her. Missed immensely by those who knew her before dementia took her far, far away. Twelve years spent in constant decline. Loss of speech, loss of memory, loss of all that was. In her passing she will be restored and made whole. She will celebrate a reunion with those who have gone before. That son who was another’s by birth, her adoring father, her stern mother, her husband to whom she devoted her entire adult life. Nancy Claire Brennan Hoffman was born a Pennsylvania farm girl and transplanted to central Florida in 1974. Music was her last form of communication and will likely be the first thing she regains in Glory. Sing with the angels and enjoy eternity with those you have loved and missed. Nancy is survived by her three biological children. She was terribly proud of her “doctor daughter,” Holly Hoffman, MD. Her “favorite child” to spoil with affection was Russell (wife, Michelle). The “little, feisty one,” Heather Davenport (husband, Kevin) did her very best to make good decisions for mother and dad. Six grandchildren will miss their Granny Nanny. They include: Ryan Hoffman-Smith, R.T. Hoffman, Marie Hoffman, Reaghin Claire Davenport, Felicia Hoffman and Zachary Hoffman. She will be deeply missed.
