Michael David Ernest Wohlford

Michael David Wohlford passed away on May 30, 2025, at the age of 69. He was born on January 8, 1956, in Waltham, Massachusetts, and grew up in Lowell, Massachusetts. Mike, as he always preferred, lives on through his wife of 41 years Annette; his three children Michael, Ted, and Elizabeth; his adoring grandchildren Kai, Kason, Elliott, Jackson, K.C., Keane, and Mari Jo; his father Carl and his two sisters, Carla and Julie; and his cousins, niece, and nephews. Mike proudly served in the United States Navy from 1976 to 1980 on a naval base in San Diego, California. He would reflect on the skills he learned working on jets and the bonds he made. Always one to bend the rules in the best ways, he would share stories of his adventures and consequences with a proud smile. Mike was analytical and creative. There was never a problem he couldn’t work his way around and solve. He spent his career working in IT, leading teams for network security. As Mike always jokingly said, “Be a manager, win a prize!” Mike’s job was always a means for what truly mattered most to him: his family. Every step he took was for his wife and three kids (and the pets, of course!) Mike lived his life selflessly, always giving back to others as much and as often as he could. He took the time to rescue many pets and care for them, a long-time blood donor, and in retirement, he volunteered at the Council on Aging, delivering meals to those who needed it. Even in passing, Mike gave himself to others as an organ donor. Mike had a charm that made strangers into friends and a way to bring laughter and light to the toughest situations. His compassion, love, on-point sarcasm, and perfectly off-the-cuff dad jokes always cut through the noise. Mike had a way to bond with all the kids and bring the best out of them, giving them memorable experiences like nobody else could. Mike leaves us with a million yottabytes of data in memories to treasure; from helping us navigate life, supporting our aspirations and dreams, to amazing adventures, wholesome moments, and irreplaceable experiences. Mike lived by what he called the four F’s: faith, family, fun, forgiveness. Our souls leave imprints on everything we say, do, and touch. Mike will always be around, stylin’ and profilin’ as he has his whole life.
