Mary Anna Horn

Mary Anna Horn, 58, of Saint Johns, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024, at Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lansing, Michigan, Mary grew up in Iron River, Michigan, nestled in the Upper Peninsula. In her early adulthood, she moved to Ft. Myers, Florida, to live with her uncle and later settled in Jacksonville with her aunt. Mary devoted 10 years to working in the IT Department at Availity Health Insurance Clearing Co, where she was known for her dedication and kindness. On February 20, 1995, Mary met Phillip Horn, the love of her life. The couple married in 1997 and together raised their family in St. Augustine, Florida. Mary was a devoted wife and an exceptionally caring mother. She took great joy in supporting her children’s sports activities, particularly relishing her role as a volleyball mom. She loved cruising and seeing the world. Mary had a unique gift for making friends wherever she went. Her infectious personality and constant smile endeared her to everyone she met. She never met a stranger, and her warmth and enthusiasm for life touched many. Mary cherished her family dearly and held a special place in her heart for her roots in Michigan, often visiting to stay connected with her extended family. As the eldest of eight siblings, Mary was a natural leader and a loving sister. Her presence will be profoundly missed by her family and friends. Mary is survived by her beloved husband, Phillip Horn; their children Linsley Horn and Phillip Horn; step mother, Cindy Zinger; mother in-law, Patricia S. Horn; siblings, Wendy Hibbard, Chaunce Roe, John Zinger, Leslie Powell (Don), Tim Zinger (Mary), Angel Zinger (Tony) and Raymond Kellogg (Connie) and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and beloved friends who will remember her fondly. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Zinger and Sharron Kellogg. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Community Bible Church. Graveside will be held at 10am on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at San Lorenzo Cemetery. Mary Anna Horn's light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
