Marta Ann McCormick

Marta Ann McCormick (Hager), born February 1, 1943 in Logan, West Virginia to the late Henry C. Hager Jr. and Edith Marie Hager (Mayo) passed through the Gates of Heaven on Thursday, February 20, 2025. After graduating from Logan High School, she met and married the late William R. McCormick. They later moved to Ohio where they raised their family. After the passing of her loving husband, she relocated with her family to Saint Augustine, Florida where she was a member of Church on the Rock as well as a member of the River House where she enjoyed making friends, playing cards and participating in other activities. Marta loved to laugh and found joy in spending time with her family and friends. She was especially proud of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. If you knew her, then you know love, kindness, gentleness, compassion, patience and forgiveness. Marta had a pure heart and carried a sweet innocence through the end of her years. She had a unique way of looking at the world and found beauty in simple things whether it be a blooming flower, a perfect piece of fruit or a day of sunshine. She was a kind soul who loved unconditionally and was unexpectedly hilarious. She had a heart for people and enjoyed meeting strangers who quickly became friends. Her life was rooted in Christ and she had an unlimited amount of faith. Those who knew her, know that she lived and enjoyed each moment as it came. We will miss her physical presence, but we will fill it with special memories such as a trip to the ice cream shop, a day at the beach, an afternoon at the park, a special meal and her special birthday song. Memories of her will not only be cherished, but will serve as a reminder to live as she did. Marta is proceeded in death by: her Father Henry C. Hager, Jr. Mother Edith Marie Hager (Mayo), and Husband William R. McCormick. She is survived by: her Daughters Kelly McCormick, Darcy (Brian) Kennard, Brother Henry C. Hager III, Sister Rebecca (Doug) Edwards , Grandchildren Joshua (Shea) Kennard, Emily (Tyler) Strait, Olivia (David) Salazar, Tyler Ford. Great Grandchildren, Zara Salazar, Maeve Kennard, Oden Ford and Lilly Ford; Several nieces and nephews as well as a host of other family and special friends. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 15 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Pat Dacko at 3420 Red Cloud Trail, St. Augustine FL,32086. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alpha-Omega Miracle Home, 2860 Collins Ave., St. Augustine FL 32084. Alpha-Omega supports women and children in need. You can also honor her legacy by enjoying the simple things in life and offering random acts of love and kindness.
