In Loving Memory of Mark Douglas Moore April 17, 1956 – November 25, 2023 It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Douglas Moore on November 25, 2023, at the age of 67. A devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Mark left an unforgettable mark on the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. Mark is survived by his loving children, Matthew Moore and Jennifer Davis, son-in-law Jeff Davis, and his cherished granddaughters, Addyson, Peyton, and Tenley Davis. He is also survived by his brothers Randall Moore, Chris Moore, Kipp Burgoyne, Chuck Burgoyne, and Robert Burgoyne. Mark was preceded in death by his mother Evelyn McIntosh Moore, Father Robert Moore, and his brother Jeff Moore. Mark's life was one of service and dedication. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, he served in Search and Rescue, reflecting his deep commitment to helping others. Mark took immense pride in his 38 years of sobriety and was a guiding light for many on their journey to recovery through Alcoholics Anonymous. Professionally, Mark excelled as a helicopter mechanic and later as the owner of MDM Capital, a maintenance data management company. His entrepreneurial spirit and work ethic inspired those around him. Mark had a passion for the open road and whether cruising down scenic routes or participating in motorcycle events, Mark found joy and camaraderie among fellow riders. His connection with the road mirrored his approach to life—full of twists, turns, and a sense of exhilaration. Mark's passion for motorcycles wasn't just a mode of transportation; it was an expression of his individuality and a source of freedom that he wholeheartedly embraced. In the virtual battlegrounds of Call of Duty, Mark created bonds with fellow gamers as they navigated the challenges of the gaming world together. Mark's gaming adventures on PlayStation were a source of entertainment, laughter, and relaxation not just for him, but for those he played with - @FrogmanUSN1956. Mark's magnetic personality drew people from all walks of life towards him. With a fierce sense of loyalty and an incredible sense of humor, he created lasting connections with friends and family alike. Always willing to lend a helping hand, Mark touched the lives of many with his generosity and kindness. Above all, Mark cherished his family and friends. His love knew no bounds, and the memories he leaves behind will be treasured by those fortunate enough to have known him. As we gather to remember Mark, let us celebrate his life and find solace in the love and laughter he shared with us all. A memorial service of celebration will be held on Saturday, December 9th, at 1:00 pm at the Shearwater Kayak Club.
