Margaret Ann Stephens

Margaret Ann Stephens passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, at the Bailey Family Center for Caring surrounded by family. Margaret was born in Rutland, Vermont, and grew up in Burlington, Vermont. She graduated from the Rock Point Episcopal School for Girls before continuing her education in business at St. Joseph’s College in Rutland. She began her professional career at GE Aircraft Engines, where she was among the first women employed at the Rutland facility—an accomplishment that reflected her determination and pioneering spirit. While working at GE, Margaret met her future husband, Paul, who traveled to the Rutland facility from Cincinnati, Ohio. Demonstrating both courage and commitment, Margaret transferred to the Ohio location, where she became a technical writer for GE Aircraft Engines. After ten years together, Margaret and Paul were married on October 3, 1992. Margaret lived life with curiosity and joy. She loved dancing, hiking, and spending time outdoors, which brought her deep peace and happiness. Her favorite place was the couple’s retirement home in the mountains of Colorado, where she felt most at ease surrounded by nature. She also enjoyed reading, photography, exercising, going to the beach, and savoring a nice glass of wine. Above all, Margaret cherished spending time with her family, creating memories filled with laughter, love, and connection. Margaret will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, her love of learning, and the quiet strength with which she lived her life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Paul Stephens; children, Lorraine Flory (John), Kate Crisp (Dainel), Joseph Terounzo; step children, Jennifer Miller (Michael), Matthew Stephens (Cindy), Andrew Stephens (Brianna); grandchildren, Kelly Perry (William), Johanna Flory, Kyle Crisp (Kaylee), Deeana Terounzo, Luman Terounzo along with several other grandchildren; great grandchildren, Jordan Perry, Madison Poremski and Theo and Henry Crisp and her sister, Carol Jean Black; step grandchildren, Dillon Muennich (Elizabeth), Tiffany Roetzel (Aron), Blake Stephens, Jacob Stephens, Calior Stephens, James Stephens, Seth Stephens, Josie Miller, Gabriel Stephens; step great grandchildren, Adeline Muennich and Trevor Plewniak. She was preceded in death by her son, Pat Terounzo and her parents, Perry and Beatrice Lyons.
