Kevin Francis Quealy

Kevin Francis Quealy February 13, 1955 - July 11, 2018 Kevin Francis Quealy, 63, of St. Augustine, Florida died on July 11, 2018, after his courageous battle with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), with his family at his side. Kevin was born in the Bronx, New York, to John and Elizabeth (nee Raftery) Quealy, of County Mayo, Ireland. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Margaret Fennelly Quealy; sister, Maura; brother, James and fraternal twin Michael. He is predeceased by his oldest brother, John. He attended St. Luke's Elementary, Cardinal Hayes High School and Manhattan College. Kevin had a long career as an electrical estimator at Local 3 IBEW in New York City, retiring from Mazio Electric in 2014. He and his loving wife, Margie of 29 years and dogs, Casey (deceased) and Riley, retired to St. Augustine to join his father in law Peter Fennelly, recently deceased and mother in law, Margaret, deceased. Kevin was a talented, hard working, generous master tradesman who embraced any project with precision, enthusiasm and grace. On all his family vacations, Kevin worked tirelessly on whatever family house was next needing work. Kevin loved a good story, had a clever sense of humor, contagious laugh, and after a project, enjoyed a good Irish coffee or two. His smile could light up a room and his sweet manner was infectious. He was affectionately referred to as "the man" when the family worked on the projects with him. Kevin loved soaking his feet into the sand at the beach after a long day of work and take in the sunset. He took long walks at his beach in St. Augustine and in the Hamptons. Kevin is survived by his best friend and wife, Margaret Fennelly, his sister Maura, brother Michael and James, all of New York and his cousins, Mary and her husband, Al Antonucci, and cousin, Jack and his wife, Mary Ann McLoughlin; Also, his joy, Riley, his dog of 16 years and new additions, Sammy and Prince. Kevin will live forever in our hearts and be remembered everywhere his signature handiwork appears in our homes Rest in peace, sweet Kevie. Many thanks to all the staff at “Community Hospice Bailey Family Center for Caring” for their gentle care of Kevin in his last weeks. In lieu of flowers, donations to MSA Coalition may help all those afflicted with this incurable disease. A memorial mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, July 16, 2018 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Monday July 16, 2018 at St. Johns Family Funeral Home.
