In Loving Memory Karon Wilcox September 18, 1940 – June 1, 2026 Karon Wilcox, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and creative soul, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on September 18, 1940, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Karon grew up in the Davenport and Bettendorf areas, where she attended school and built the foundation of a life centered on family, love, and hard work. It was in Bettendorf that she met the love of her life, Richard Keith Wilcox. The couple married on January 18, 1958, and together shared many wonderful years while raising a loving family. Karon often considered her greatest accomplishment to be her role as a mother. She poured her heart into raising her three children—Deborah, Ricky, and Timothy—creating a home filled with warmth, care, and unwavering support. In addition to her dedication to her family, Karon worked for Eagle Signal (EL Tech Electronics). She balanced her career with a variety of passions that reflected her vibrant spirit and love of life. She enjoyed boating, dancing, spending time at the beach, and embracing the beauty of the outdoors. Karon was also a talented painter whose creativity brought joy to those around her. Known for her remarkable green thumb, she found great happiness tending to her gardens and nurturing the beauty of nature. Karon’s greatest joy was her family, and her legacy lives on through the generations she loved so dearly. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Ross; her son, Timothy Wilcox and his wife, Becky; her grandchildren, Shawn Ross and his wife, Frances, Dalton Wilcox, Hunter Wilcox, Savanna Wilcox, and Amanda Wilcox; her great-grandchildren, Logan, James, and Conor Ross, and Jaiden; her brother, Dennis Simson; her sister, Marilyn Norberg; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Keith Wilcox; her son, Ricky Wilcox; and her son-in-law, Jim Ross. Karon will be remembered for her bright and creative spirit, her love for nature and life's simple pleasures, and the quiet devotion she showed to those she loved. Her kindness, strength, and warmth will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in the many cherished memories she leaves behind and in the enduring love that will remain with them always.
