Joseph Gaeton Indomenico, 77, passed away peacefully on September 5th, 2024. Born on November 11, 1946, Joseph spent his life nurturing both his passions and relationships, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and craftsmanship. Although Joseph was a man of many talents and passions—woodworking, gardening, and cooking being among his favorites—he also served his country with great pride when called upon during the Vietnam War. While he didn’t seek out military service, Joseph returned home as a decorated serviceman, earning multiple medals and accolades for his bravery. His love for life and family was evident in everything he did, from growing his cherished "Indomenico Peppers" (Which were your garden variety sweet peppers grown with Joseph’s Love) to smoking salmon and preparing Sunday dinners that brought the family together. These moments, especially when cooking cauliflower in cheese sauce with his granddaughter Peyton, were some of his greatest joys. Joseph’s love for his family extended beyond the kitchen. He delighted in fixing old cars with his grandson Wyatt, and he enjoyed sharing a beer with his sons Joe Jr., Paul, Jeremy, and his son by marriage, Reggie. Remembering fondly the good times they shared together, like the time Joe Jr. took them to Oktoberfest. Joseph would always call Stacy if he had a question about anything. He would say she was the best researcher he knew. His Wednesday and Saturday chats with Paul were moments he treasured deeply, and through it all, he remained a rock of support and joy for everyone who knew him. Joseph and Jeremy shared a love of Golden Retrievers, and Joe’s heart belonged to his Golden Retrievers—Albert Bentley, Marcus, and Rosie. Their companionship brought him immense comfort and joy over the years. Joseph is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Mary Indomenico; his children, Joe Jr. (Jessica) Indomenico, Paul (Stephanie) Indomenico, Jeremy(Richard) Indomenico, and Stacy (Reggie) Hardwicke; his sisters, Marie Naliwaika and Paula Walek; his beloved grandchildren, Wyatt, Peyton, Abigail, Andrew, Sophia, Estella, and his great-grandson, Waylon. He was preceded in death by his parents and his eldest sister, Joy Mele. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Wreaths Across America in Joseph's honor, celebrating a life well-lived and his dedication to family, friendship, and tradition. He will be greatly missed, but his love and memory will remain in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know him.
