Joanne Ainsworth Faulkner

Joanne Ainsworth Faulkner, age 73, a loving wife, mother, and friend passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023, with her husband Fred at her side. She passed at their home in Saint Augustine Beach Florida, losing her battle with Ovarian Cancer. It was a difficult time at the end, but she is at peace; this journey has ended and a new one has just begun. Born on December 29, 1949, at Fort Sill Oklahoma to Joseph Patrick McCue and Jaunita Marie “Weber” McCue. At birth her assigned name was Jo Neta which she never cared much for, instead calling herself Joanne for years before officially changing it over to Joanne. Joanne is survived by her husband Frederic Joseph Faulkner, her daughter Catherine E. Ainsworth of Bel Air Maryland, and her son David A. Ainsworth II also of Bel Air Maryland along with his wife Kerri L. and their two children Braylon and Bryleigh. Beside her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by a daughter Lisa Biondo, and her former husband David A. Ainsworth. Fred and Joanne continued to maintain a residence in Havre De Grace Maryland. Joanne spent much of her early life in Japan as her father served two tours of duty with the US Army. At such an early age she quickly absorbed the Japanese language and loved to tell stories of her time there, of watching TV shows like The Lone Ranger and American Western Movies which of course were voiced over in Japanese. She also liked to point out that she got so good her parents frequently relied upon her to interpret conversations and news reports for them. When the family returned to the States, setting up residency in Lawton Oklahoma, her parents unfortunately did not encourage her language skills. As a kid growing up in Lawton, she was especially proud of her time as a member of the Junior Olympic Swim Team and her accomplishments as a high diver. Joanne was a Girl Scout and played the clarinet in the Lawton High School Band. She frequently reflected on her high school years as she witnessed the merging of the segregated schools in this deeply southern, sometimes divided, community. She married early, gave birth to Lisa, and traveled extensively with her husband Salvatore Biondo. After living on her own for a while Joanne married David Ainsworth and gave birth to Catherine and David II. Joanne would brag about her 25+ moves in her lifetime. When not attending to the needs of the family, she managed to pursue a wide array of employment opportunities through the years from clerical and administrative, to an airline stewardess and many more, too numerous to mention. Joanne loved her children and watching them grow to adulthood gave her a lot of pride. She also loved the many dogs that accompanied her life journey and was residing with Teddy, a Yorkshire Terrier at the time of her death. Joanne loved to cook; she was an excellent gardener keeping her yard as beautiful as time would permit. She loved nature and walks in the woods and open meadows with her husband Fred. These and other activities were severely limited in recent years due to her declining health. But most of all, she loved to meet new friends and talk, she could talk to anyone, and boy she did. Joanne is remembered fondly by those of us who knew her.
