Jeanne Williams

Jeanne (DiBiase) Williams, formally of Scituate, RI passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 16, 2023, in St. Augustine, FL at the age of 78. She spent the day surrounded by her friends and family. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 56 years and constant companion Alfon (Al) Williams. She also leaves behind her two adoring sons and daughters-in-law David Williams (Karen) and Mark Williams (Kathleen). Jeanne was the cherished grandmother of five grandchildren, Mark Williams, Jr., Abigail Slader (Nathan), Joseph Williams, Hannah Williams, Natalie Williams who all affectionally called her Nonni. She was predeceased by her father Joseph DiBiase, her mother Elizabeth (Rosati) DiBiase, her stepmother Concetta (Feula) DiBiase, and her sisters Ann Marie (Malcom) Kdonian and Rosalie (Frank) Como. She is survived by her stepbrother John Laurenzo (Karen Farrell). Jeanne grew up in Providence, RI where she attended Mount Pleasant High School, graduating third in her class in 1963. She fell in love with Al and married in the fall of 1967. Together they raised their children in Cranston, RI. Once her children were young adults, Jeanne reentered the workforce as a full-charge bookkeeper. After retirement they moved to Scituate, RI (wintering in Punta Gorda, FL) and finally to Elkton, FL full-time. Jeanne devoted her life to her family and friends. She showed her love through her cooking, by singing to her grandchildren, making life-long memories, and settling the incessant debate between her sons as to which was her favorite (the answer changed quite often). When she wasn’t doating on her family, Jeanne enjoyed reading, golfing, and playing cards. She loved to sing, dance, and entertain – be it friends, family, or perfect strangers. The daughter of Italian immigrants, Jeanne prided herself on preserving her family’s Italian traditions while embracing the American heritage that surrounded her. She was always fair, honest, and compassionate while never compromising her values and beliefs. Her greatest pleasure came from spending time with the people she loved. Her lasting legacy is a testament to a life well lived and well loved. She will be missed immensely. A visitation with the family will be held at 2 pm on Friday, September 29th, 2023 at St. Johns Family Funeral Home in St. Augustine, FL with a memorial service to follow afterwards beginning at 3 pm. A reception will follow the memorial service at the clubhouse at Coquina Crossing at 4536 Coquina Crossing Dr, Elkton, FL 32033. A second memorial service will be held in Rhode Island on Thursday, October 26 at 5:00 P.M. at Greenwood Community Church, 805 Main Avenue, Warwick, RI 02886 (www.gccp.org) with a reception to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice & Palliative Care of Jacksonville, FL (https://www.communityhospice.com) for the care and compassion shown to Jeanne in her final days.
