Gloria Jeneane Lagasse

Gloria Jeneane Lagasse, age 89, of St. Augustine, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025, at Coral Landing Assisted Living Facility. Born on August 3, 1935, in Palatka, Florida, Jeneane lived a life full of love, hard work, and adventure. A proud graduate of St. Joe High School with the Class of 1953, Jeneane took some college courses before diving into her career in the paper industry. She spent over 40 years at the mill, first with Hudson Pulp and Paper and later with Georgia-Pacific, where she made her mark as the first woman supervisor—a true trailblazer in her field. Jeneane retired in the early 1990s, having built a legacy of dedication and strength. After retirement, Jeneane enjoyed traveling, exploring new places; Helen, Georgia, was one of her favorites, and she collected dolls—her sweet side shining brightly through her cherished collections. She was a loving mother to her children Kim Sweat, Randy Sweat, Sherry Lagasse, Scott Lagasse, and Skip Lagasse, spreading warmth and guidance throughout her family. Jeneane was known for her loving spirit, but she certainly had a stern side that showed she meant business when it counted. Cherished by all who knew her, she leaves behind a legacy of kindness and resilience. Jeneane was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Estelle Pacetti, siblings Barbara Cupples, Roland Pacetti, and David Pacetti; a son, Randy; a daughter, Sherry; and a granddaughter, Donalyn. She is survived by her beloved children her brother, Terry Pacetti and her sister DeeDee Siddons; grandchildren Marina Foster, Makali Foster, Danny Sweat, Glenda “GJ” Colvin, Scott Lagasse Jr., Sherri Lagasse-Randall, and Michelle Tart; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. A celebration of Jeneane's life will be held at the home of Mike Lagasse, 470 CR 207A, East Palatka from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM on March 1, 2025. The family warmly invites everyone whose lives were touched by Jeneane to join in honoring her memory and celebrating her remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeneane’s name to the Epilepsy Foundation , reflecting her generous spirit.
