Eunice Dorothy Muzzy

Eunice Bruss Muzzy, 87, passed away on August 6, 2024, in Saint Augustine, Florida, where she lived with her husband Duane Muzzy for 31 years. She was born to parents Walter and Dorothy Bruss on June 25, 1937, in Wolf River, Wisconsin. Eunice grew up on her family’s dairy farm as the youngest along with four older brothers. Eunice loved her Lord Jesus Christ deeply and her greatest pride was her family. She was a devoted wife and mother, cherishing the role of nurturing a Christian home and raising her children in faith. Eunice's lasting legacy continues through her three children and seven grandchildren. She considered this her greatest achievement and joy! Eunice’s life was rich, joyous and active. She had a profound appreciation for music and singing, and participated as an alto with the Ancient City Baptist Church senior choir. Eunice was also an avid reader. She loved life and two of her favorite things were golf and sailing. She participated in the ladies nine hole golf group of the Marsh Creek Country Club. At one time she was the president of that group, and even got a hole-in-one on two separate occasions. She enjoyed sailing with her husband Duane. They took many sailing vacations together in the British Virgin Islands and Maine. They also traveled extensively to Great Britain and western Europe. Eunice loved all of God’s creation and enjoyed spending time outdoors. Eunice is survived by her husband, Duane Drake Muzzy; her children, Stuart Brice Schieler (Lory), Cristen Lae Schieler Oliver (Kenneth), and Chad Farrell Schieler; stepdaughters, Trisha Lynn Muzzy Wells and Susan Drake Sherwood, brothers, Ozzie Bruss and Gerald Bruss (Lani); grandchildren, Brittany Oliver Aquart (Andrew), Amber Oliver Aquart (Nick), Travers Oliver (Sydne), Jessica Schieler Kappers (Joshua), Tristan Schieler, Tel Schieler (Jordan), and Jamie Schieler; and great-grandchildren, Calvin Aquart, Cortland Aquart, Clayton Oliver, Riley Aquart, Hayden Oliver, and Margot Kappers. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Karl Schieler; her parents, Walter and Dorothy Clausen Bruss; and brothers, Victor and Willard Bruss. A private service to celebrate Eunice's life will be held at Ancient City Baptist Church. Eunice's life was a profound example of love and faith, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
