Christie Ann Hartle

Christie Hartle, age 57, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away on June 6th at Hospice of St. Augustine, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Denville and raised in Lake Hopatcong, NJ. Christie made St. Augustine her home in 1990 and embraced the Florida lifestyle with her unmistakable New Jersey flair. A devoted Yankees fan, Christie could always be spotted sporting her team memorabilia with pride. Her New Jersey attitude was strong - - never backing down, never holding back, and always ready with a sharp remark to keep everyone on their toes. In her retirement, Christie enjoyed cruising the high seas with her beloved husband and made frequent trips to Atlantic City, where she was known to give Lady Luck a run for her money. She loved her dogs…well, most of the time, and they loved her right back. Christie will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, mentor, and dog lover, who never hesitated to speak her mind. Her candidness was often shocking, always entertaining, and undeniably authentic. She had a knack for putting people in their place when needed. A trait that endeared her to some and terrified others. Christie’s extensive family stretches across NY, NJ, Virginia, and Florida. She was preceded in death by her common-law husband, Jeffrey Robert Cohn Sr. She is survived by her husband, RJ Diloreto; her sons, Jeffrey Jr, Christopher, and Michael Cohn; all of St. Augustine. She also leaves behind her mother, Judith Hartle of Palatka, FL; her father, Paul Hartle of Lake Hopatcong, NJ; her three brothers, Keith and Greg of Lake Hopatcong, NJ, and Brian Hartle of Palatka, FL; her in-laws, Garry Cohn Sr; and Rinaldo & Linda Diloreto of Saint Augustine, FL; Paddy Cohn of Germantown, NY; Garry Cohn Jr of Dublin, Ireland; and Kim Reeves of Elkton, FL. St. John’s Funeral Home will handle the arrangements. A Celebration of Life will be held on a later date, where family and friends can gather to remember Christie in true Hartle fashion. Details will be posted on Facebook. Christie, you will be deeply missed. But your spirited wit will live on in our hearts and stories forever. Rest in peace and may the Yankees give the broom to Boston in your honor. Forever and ever.
