Chad Clinton Hawks

Chad Clinton Hawks, beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend passed from this world on April 2, 2024. He was born July 15, 1976, to Roberta ‘Gail’ Weaver and was a lifelong resident of St. Augustine, Florida. Chad was a true waterman. It was where he thrived. The beach was his happy place. As a teenager, he was either surfing, swimming, biking, bowling, or gaming. As a young adult, he enjoyed traveling with friends to different surf locations around Florida and out of the country. He also worked hard to put himself through St. John’s Community College and spent his time studying leadership. He started his career in retail and worked his way up the ranks to assistant manager of large corporations. He had a reputation for being professional while leading his team with a kind heart. Chad also enjoyed photographing sunrises and sunsets. He would often send the photos he took to his friends and family. Chad was preceded in death by his father Russell Hawks and his step-father John Weaver, Grandmother Mildred Irene Mercer, Grandfather R. William Mercer, and many other relatives. Remaining are his mother Gail Weaver, and sibling Leah Souder, and step-siblings, CJ Weaver and Darryl Weaver, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Also left behind are his countless friends from all over who knew him from the water, fun nights out, school, and work buddies. His family was his world and his friends were like a second family to him. He loved his friends and family immensely. Chad was always willing to help others, whether it was moving furniture, or helping someone change a flat tire. He was an all-around stand-up guy with a lot of wit, generosity, and an even bigger heart. When we recall Chad, we remember kindness, warmth, and lots of laughs. We have benefitted from living with Chad and perhaps we can pass along some of his kindness to others. Chad, we miss you and we will miss you every day for the rest of our lives. Thank you so much for the time you spent with us. We won't forget you. “Just keep paddling”. A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the St John’s Family Funeral Home.
